A Celebration: Alums 2017!

August 31 – September 20, 2017

OPENING - Wednesday, August 30, 2017, 5-7 p.m. in Todd Hall's Todd Art Gallery. Call 615-898-5532 for directions, parking, other questions.

This is a curated show featuring the work of our Art alums 1982-2012 currently working in Ceramics, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Graphic Design and the associated studies of Book Arts, Letterpress, and Jewelry. Those majors from Art Education and Art History are equally welcome.


When you were at MTSU where did see yourself in 2017?  Well, we want to know?
We invite everyone who is a graduate of the MTSU / Department of Art / Studio and Graphic Design programs during the 30 year period noted to participate. NO FEE TO PARTICIPATE

FAQs

1)      When is the deadline to submit? On or before Tuesday, August 1. Selections will be notified August 8, 2017  Tentative mailing or drop-off at  Todd Hall is August 16, 2017.

2)      Is the show juried? No, but it will be curated meaning that we may not select everything submitted due to issues of space, and shipping costs or to add greater variety across the body of the exhibit. 

3)     How many artists will be selected? More or less 20 depending on the size of the work

4)      Are shipping costs covered? We cover one-way up to $20.00.

5)      Do you need hi-res images? Yes, at least one image per work: Dimensions 10" on the wider side

6)      How many pieces may I submit for consideration? 3 to 5.

7)      How old can the works be? Works must have been made since our previous Alum Exhibit in 2012.

8)      Do you need an artist statement and resume? We request an artist statement and pertinent bio.

9)      What is the timeline for the show? It opens August 30 and runs through September 20, 2017

10)    How can I drop-off my work should I choose not to ship? Call 615-898-5653 or 615-898-5532 to make arrangements Monday            thorough Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

WORK WILL BE EXHIBITED AS IS so include any installation instructions necessary.

Work will be returned or may be picked up at gallery after exhibit closes.

There is no fee to apply or participate.  Cost of shipping insurance for work to Todd Art Gallery is at each artist discretion. 

Todd Art Gallery return ships via UPS and USPS only.

Exhibit Exception: While every effort will be made to include each work submitted gallery staff reserve the right to omit any work for any reason. While work is never omitted for content, consideration of overall exhibit presentation and spacing issues occasionally require a reduction of exhibit numbers. All participating artists accept this possibility upon applying. 

IMAGE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

* All entries are via Submittable.com. 

*Acceptable File Formats: 300 dpi Photoshop, TIFF or JPG, approximately 10” wide x 8” tall, high resolution PDF.

Files must read as such:

* Last Name_Title of Piece_Year Created

* Ex. Smith_Primary_2013 or Smith_Primary_Detail_2013

Artists must also send a Word Document image list with their entries, which includes the following information:


* Name and Email of Artist

* Title

* Materials

* Size

* Year Graduated

* Area of Art Major
