GUIDELINES for Artist Submissions to Participate

The Submission Deadline is Friday, May 26, 2023 - Open until 11:59 p.m., Monday, May 29. 2023

OPEN CALL FOR ALL MEDIA

THE BORO ART CRAWL is a juried event and collaboration of artists, patrons, and businesses from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2023. Located in Murfreesboro's historic downtown shopping district, the Crawl invites artists, authors, craft artists, musicians, and poets, from all career stages, students through professionals, to apply to show and sell your work.

The MTSU Department of Art and Design, Main Street Murfreesboro, Rutherford Arts Alliance, Murfreesboro City Schools, Rutherford County Schools, Church Street Gallery, Legacy Ink, M&J Home, and numerous other businesses and visual art enthusiasts sponsor the Boro Art Crawl.

Those wishing to participate must complete this application! Venue spaces are limited, so do not delay!

Your completion of the following form is your acknowledgment that upon selection, you will participate in person or by a representative, in the Crawl, during the date and time listed above.

Please upload at least three digital images (Jpeg or PDF files)  of the work you intend to display and offer for sale.

All images of work must include a Title, Description, Dimensions, and Price. Artist submissions must have this information to be accepted.

Artists are encouraged to submit at least five representative pieces of their work.

ALERT: Photographs, CDs, and email attachments are not accepted.

The deadline is May 26, 2023

Artists selected to participate are responsible for their setup, including a table, chairs, and possibly a tent and proper tie-downs.

If you have submission questions: eric.snyder@mtsu.edu

Acceptance emails will contain the following:

Address and contact information of your business venue

Set up Location: In front of the venue on the sidewalk or inside the business

Set up Start Time:  When you meet the venue owner or representative and begin to place your work

The Crawl will send additional details to each artist upon acceptance of their work and will provide final instructions before the start of the event.

Artists (or their representatives) must attend the night of the CRAWL. They are responsible for collecting all payments from the sale of their artwork and applicable sales tax. The artist's work will only be displayed or offered during The Crawl unless otherwise arranged with the participating venue. Visual work and all related setup must be removed immediately after 8 p.m.

The Crawl will keep all applications and artwork submissions on file for future CRAWLS. Should your artwork not be selected for one CRAWL, it does not mean it is excluded from a future CRAWL. Likewise, being chosen to show in one CRAWL does not guarantee acceptance into future CRAWLS as each CRAWL will be individually curated by artist submission.  As an artist, you are welcome to update your art images with each subsequent Crawl scheduled. If you need to remove unavailable work or submit new images of work, you must return to this submission site and sign in to your free access account.
